LIBRARY RULES

  1. Library is open on all working Days from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm; time of book circulation will be from10.30am to 3.30 pm.

  2. Students should maintain absolute silence and seriousness in the library.

  3. Every student shall produce his/her identity card before entering the library.

  4. Identity card contains barcode. All the books in the library are bar-coded. The issue and return process is carried out at the circulation desk using the bar coded identity card issued to the students and staff

  5. ID cards are non-transferable

  6. Library digital information service contains e-books, e-journals, and question papers of all previously conducted university examinations of the course/programmes.

  7. Books will be issued to the students only on exchange with their library card, which will be handed over to them when they return the book.

  8. The Library card is not transferable.

  9. If a student happens to lose his /her library card, the matter should be reported to the Librarian immediately. If the library card is not traced out within a week a duplicate will be issued on payment of Rs. 200/-.

  10. Members may only carry paper sheets or notebooks to the library. They should keep their personal belongings in the property counter before entering the library

  11. Printed reading materials, issued books except for return/reissuing purpose are not allowed inside the library

  13. All are requested to use books in such a way that they live long and thereby serve long.

  14. Members of the teaching staff can borrow 15 books, Non Teaching staff 3books, UG Students 2 books and PG Students 6 books at a time

  15. UG and PG Students can usually keep books for 14 days and teaching staff for 30 days. Books can be renewed if nobody has requested for the same.

  16. If a book is not returned on or before its due date a fine of Re. 1/- per day per book (including holidays) shall be levied

  17. The Librarian may recall a book at any time even when the normal period is not over.

  18. Absence from college will not be admitted as an excuse for delay in returning books.

  19. .Members are not allowed to hand over the books taken by them. Breach of this rule will lead to the loss of the membership.

  20. On no account shall a member disfigure a library book. When a member receives a book from the library he/she shall satisfy himself/herself that the book is on sound condition. If it is not so the matter should be at once brought to the notice of Librarian; otherwise the member shall be liable for the replacement of the book by a new copy pay 3 times of the price of the book.

  21. Writing of any kind or marking up on the book in ink or pencil will also be considered as damages done to the book.

  22. Members shall replace books lost or pay 3 times of the price of the book

  23. The Principal reserves the right to suspend any members on misbehaving with the Library staff or on behaving in an indecent manner in the library

  24. The membership of those who tear-away pages or steal books will be suspended and further disciplinary actions will be taken against them by the Principal

  25. All members of the Teaching and Non teaching staff should return books borrowed from the library before they proceed on long period leave and obtain a No-Dues Certificate from the Library
