The Under Graduate department of History launched its journey in 2017. Like othercourse,there ishigh demand among the students for opting History as Main Subject. There are at present 48 sanctioned seats for this course. Thereare four fulltime faculty and two part time faculty to take care of the students. The department is headed by Miss Rejeena Philip. It maintains a good academic record in the universityexaminations Besides teaching, the department organizes seminar, debate and prepares for quiz competitions and group discussions, so that they can make progress in their life. Students are participating in intercollegiate competitions in order to showcase theirtalents and brilliant ideas. Students of the department takePartinvariouscollege activities like publication of departmental magazine, social work and culturalactivities etc. The department organizes parent – teacher meeting from time to time to appraise the guardians about the progress of the students. The departmentmaintains a small Museum in order to display the antique andolditems. Department arranges Industrial visit for the IV sem students and three days ofstudy tour for the VI sem students. More over, the faculty membersare always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to students within and outsidecampus as and when required. Consequently students get throughthe final examinations with flying colours every year and go for further higher studies
